Inventory Items Options - MultiSite Overrides
Can this function be used for Multisites to identify a mutlisite, choose a field identifier for Delivery Method, and change the option for shipping so that some sites might use an item based shipping for this item and others could use Realtime?
If so what would be an example set of identifiers to choose for populating those override fields for an identified multisite?
MultiSite Overrides
Enter MultiSite Overrides for this Inventory Item. Enter an identifier for the MultiSite and the Field to override, and a value which will be used for that Field when that MultiSite is active.

That field allows you to change any value for a column/field for an inventory item to any other value. To use, you need the column/value name you want to change, and a good value for it, plus the MultiSite id you want the override in place for. So, for example, to use product based shipping with method 1 set to 'Standard' and method 1 price set to $5.00 for MultiSite XXX, you'd use these:
MultiSite ID / Field Identifier / Override Value
XXX / delmethod / P
XXX / shiponename / Standard
XXX / shiponeprice / 5.00

Works perfectly! I really like this and curious to discover what else could be done with inventory records using the overrides feature. I had already been using this feature in Multisites to differentiate our websites.

I'm glad you're finding use for it. We have clients using it to adjust oversell amounts, free shipping settings and other things that need differentiation between wholesale sites and retail mainly.
