At Step 7 of 13: Core Installation, nothing happens. The page shows with content up but nothing happens.
Now what?

Could be a few things, first check your CHMOD settings and also inside the folders too, in case it is just the folder...

The one I used to find was changing it from 777 to 755 worked off the top of my head, so check it out.

You can either:

(1) Download a new installer from:

https://kryptronic.com/Software-Downloads

The installer you're using hasn't been updated for all the new Firefox/MSIE security changes done last year (I would assume). It's working, it's just not auto-refreshing. The latest version of the installer will auto-refresh for you.

(2) Access installer.php from a non-SSL URL.

I get
An error was encountered while creating a new CORE object. Error Information: The core constructor function was accessed during initialization by an Installer interface with a password, however the password supplied could not be validated.

Now what?

The passwords in {private}/config.php and {public}/config.php do not match. Delete the values for both, then re-run the installer. You must have manually edited one or the other.

Cancel that last "working" message. I am now getting
"An error was encountered while performing the database load task requested. Error Information: The MySQL extension encountered a problem submitting an SQL statement. MySQL reported the error as: Duplicate entry 'USPS-INT-Priority Mail Express International Flat ' for key 1 mesql.php line 943: INSERT INTO ecom_shiprealtimep VALUES ('USPS-INT-Priority Mail Express International Flat ', 'USPS Priority Mail Express International Flat Rate Envelope', 'USPS', 'R', '0')"

How about using INSERT... ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE ...

You missed the pre-update database instructions, including:

ALTER TABLE ecom_shiprealtimep CHANGE id id VARCHAR(200) DEFAULT '' NOT NULL

And maybe more.

I am getting that same error and I am not upgrading, but am moving from one server to another. Do I need to do this as well? Running the install on the new server. All went well until the database reload
Duplicate entry 'USPS-INT-First-Class Mail International Large Enve' for key 'PRIMARY
I can NOT log into the admin area either. The pathway is actually identical yet this is just not working.
