For years I have noticed orders default to standard carrier shipping rate randomly. I have just figured out if a zip code in Admin delivery has a leading 0 it is dropped causing a four digit zip code causing the default standard carrier. How can we allow CCP8 to include leading zero in delivery zip code?

Sounds like you're uploading an Excel spreadsheet for products and your shipper zip code column is not formatted as five digits. Excel is notorious for this - the software doesn't drop leading zeroes.

I am not uploading any excel spreadsheets. In the Delivery section of a product I input Connecticut and and zip code of 06451 and update. When i go back in product, CCP8 changed it to 6451 which causes the default standard carrier rate to be applied.

And you're inputting that zip code directly into the CCP8 admin interface and clicking submit, or are you uploading that data via a spreadsheet?

inputting directly into ccp8 admin interface and submitting. Not through spreadsheet

I would check the column type for the shipzip column in your ecom_prod table.
Mines set to VARCHAR(20) DEFAULT '', and it doesn't drop the leading zero.

Interesting, Mine is set to VARCHAR(20) DEFAULT also. I wonder if maybe problem lies with my hosting and a server setting?

Let me guess, you're submitting zip 01234 to replace 1234. That won't work. The software will recognize those as the same and not update the field. First change 1234 to X, update it, then change X to 01234. The extra hoop is necessary because the bad value is in there already.

That was it. Thanks Nick
