SEO remove "Item" from URL?

Is there a way to remove the "Item" part of the URL from the item's SEO url and "Category" from that part of the URL for the categories?

You really shouldn't do that.  The software would have no way to know, if you did do that, whether the request was for an item, category or HTML page.

Ok. Just checking as I know the client will ask.

Re: SEO remove "Item" from URL?

Nick how hard would it be, or would it mess up the software to change the URL to all lower case?  I notice that software uses "Category/" and "Item/" instead of category/ and item/ .

Re: SEO remove "Item" from URL?

You can change those by editing the entries that have the 'seourl' column populated in the core_namespaces table.  You can technically change them to whatever you want - provided you always begin with a forward slash, and never use the same seourl twice in that table.  Ie - be very careful.
