At the bottom of my splash page I have the featured products slider that is handling about 10 items.
I've set the Feature Active Sliders all to TRUE and I've a few products set for different slots. But non are appearing on the splash page.

Another question. I have my widgets set to SIDEMENU. Are we no longer able to have widgets on the right?

(1) Which splash page, the HTML splash page, or the store splash page?

(2) If you build out a right column in your skin, in that right column call up 'SIDEMENURIGHT' or whatever you want to call that group, then in admin, change the group for the skin widget to the group name you used - but don't change the class name, leave that as 'SIDEMENU'.

3) Manual mentions a setting for Display Progress Indicator I don't see it under settings - checkout
Where do I turn it on at?

The manual needs updating (once again). That indicator was made obsolete and removed with the one page checkout.

I was originally missing: <?php $this->include_namespace('ecom','prodfeature'); ?> I added it under website|content|webpages and the Featured Slots are now visible.

But, This page is also showing the other Featured Slider. That is visible on the other Splash Page. How do I remove it from this page.

Remove any other calls to the 'prodlist' namespace from your splash HTML page. The 'prodfeature' call should be the only one there.
