Hi Guys
We have upgraded a UK VAT registered website from CCP6 to EuropaCart 7.
There appears to be some serious issues with the VAT calculations with this new version.
This website displays prices excluding VAT and also sells non vatable products such as books, Safety Boots etc.
We are using 'European Union VAT Rules'. Whats the difference between this and 'Standard Rules'?
The cart seems to be OK when it is a vatable item, but throws it's toys out of the pram when you add a non-vatable item such as a book.
Example:
Book £17.50 Zero VAT
Pulley £25.95 +VAT @ 20%
Delivery £6.50 +VAT @ 20%
Total Payable should be £56.44
The cart is displaying £55.79! Where does it get this figure from???
We had an order come through this morning displaying the following;
Delivery 1 Total Ex VAT £8.51 VAT £1.13 Actual Rate 13.333%. Where does 13.333% come from???
Also, by buying a non vatable item only, no VAT is added to the shipping charge.
Shipping Tax Rate (Percentage)* is set to 20 for UK England & Wales - Checked that.
An urgent fix is required!
Thanks in Advance!
Tommy

Can someone at Kryptronic please respond to this URGENT support request please!
We have had to disable WorldPay and go back to Offline Card processing so we can control how much the customer is charged.
While we have disabled WorldPay in Europacart, we are still incurring maintenance charges. As such, this is only a temporary resolution to our problem BUT far from ideal.
Can we have a wiki to guide us through setting the VAT correctly if it is a setting we are missing?
Again, thanks in advance for assistance.
Again, this is URGENT.

Glad to hear I am not the only one with this problem!
Are Kryptronic support on vacation?

Can someone from Kryptronic please at least acknowledge this post and what, if anything is being done about it.
Thanks

Unanswered posts for important issues like this seem to occur much too often for comfort.
We are talking here about a business that has had to suspend online processing to avoid falling foul of the Revenue rottweillers of Her Majesty's Government. C'mon Kryptronic, pull the finger out and deal with this.

Come on Guys!
I have been using CCP for many years now on several sites and I am now really getting concerned about this issue.
Can anyone from Kryptronic PLEASE at least acknowledge my post and will look into the issue.

I also wish that Kryptronic would sort out the UK VAT implementation in Europacart because I have around 6000 B2B customers and would really like to market e-commerce shop provision to them as part of the business relationship that I have with them but am afraid of introducing them to Europacart with VAT calculation bugs because that will affect my reputation and cause me a whole load of pain when the client is impacted by it.
I was hoping that Nick would finally sort the VAT issue out but I've been waiting for over a year now. Greenbarn is an option for UK customers but I'm not sure how good his bastardised version of CCP6 is (XCS) or whatever its called. Does anybody know whether Howard's XCS cart is any good? i.e. buggy or not?
Something has got to give on this 'VAT issue' because I am sure that Kryptronic must be losing potential software license sales to UK customers because of it.

VAT errors are not acceptable for any UK based business.
The "unravel" process is fraught with difficulties when VAT calculations start to go wrong, and simply put, Europacart is a huge liability instead of an asset if it can't be trusted to calculate VAT correctly.
I'm totally puzzled why this issue has not been addressed publicly.
Tommy, have Kryptronic been in touch with you privately regarding this?

Nope! Still not even acknowledging my thread. Which I have to say is unusual from my experience of Kryptronic. That is why in a previous post I asked if they were on vacation as I was so suprised I got no reply.
Wish we stuck with CCP6 at the moment! It worked! This is very embarassing for me after recommending and upgrading and spending a lot of time on a clients site. I now try and keep the client happy promising him a fix would normally come along quickly for these sorts of things and stick with his cart software!
Kryptronic support. Are you working on this? Do you know how to fix this? Please at least respond.

If only it was that easy. Life would be great.
I have run the installer again.
Extension Module: EuropaCart 7.1.1 is what was installed and is the version available online.

Tommy, have you tried to contact Kryptronic via any other means?
This afternoon I steered a buyer away from Europacart for the sole reason that nothing has been forthcoming from Kryptronic on this.
I was asked for an opinion and with reluctance I had to report that it seems Europacart cannot correctly process VAT and its owners seem unable or unwilling to fix it.
I'm beginning to wonder if the battle with Howard at Greenbarn has not not been such a clear-cut victory for Kryptronic as we were led to understand, and Kryptronic have decided further work on the UK flavoured Europacart is not going to happen.
This horrifies me because I dread to think what will happen to those of us who have Europacart if we are abandoned into the clutches of Howard. **shudder**
I'll wait until the weekend and then I'll need to begin the process of searching out an exit strategy from CCP / Europacart if this VAT issue remains unanswered by Kryptronic. I can't take the risk of a coup d'etat at short notice.
It makes no sense that Kryptronic are unaware of this question regarding VAT processing.
And to ignore the issue with no response whatsoever also makes no sense.
You don't need to be Sherlock Holmes to figure the question is being deliberately avoided, and whatever the reason it can only mean BAD NEWS for Europacart users.
I will be delightedly happy if I have been watching too many episodes of Columbo and I'm proved to be completely wrong - but why no response from Kryptronic?
I fear the worst.

Sorry to bump this thread, but we need to get some sort of response from Kryptronic on this issue.

Does anyone know where the code is that tells the cart to reduce the shipping charge if there is a VAT free product in the cart?
If I, or someone else could work the code, I am happy to stick with Europcart. Everything else works great with it.
We also want to stick with it as we know it and have spent many years working with it.
Thanks in Advance

How's about installing Skype and calling Kryptronic directly?

I've just nopticed there is another forum thread (unanswered) on this very same subject from May of this year.
That's three months ago.

Ok now I am getting really worried! What possible reason would Kryptronic be ignoring this thread? It certainly is not my experience of kryptronic.
Some of our top selling items are VAT free such as safety boots, helmets and books. Being a leading supplier to our industry, customers generally have Vat and Vat free products in their cart.
How about we find someone else to fix the code?
