Re: ClickCartPro 7 - Initial Thread From CCP6 Forum

There aren't any with version 6 so you won't see any changes in that area in version 7.

Re: ClickCartPro 7 - Initial Thread From CCP6 Forum

Dave, what if we DON'T use HD SEO XMOD, just built in SEO? Nick made a comment regarding someone who uses app=gbu0 in their urls that google re-indexes in a couple weeks and you come out stronger. That isn't accurate, except maybe for large sites which most of us aren't. I lost 50% of my traffic and SE positioning for 2-3 months when I changed from non-ccp site to ccp6 last summer so my urls can't be affected by v7.

Re: ClickCartPro 7 - Initial Thread From CCP6 Forum

Good point Wyatt, I feel the same on this... I have read up on the HD SEO and I am gonna get it for V6 soon, but would like to see it included in the price.

Also with regard to the UK version, will this be simularly priced to the US version, as currently we pay a fair amount more for the UK version.

Thanks

Re: ClickCartPro 7 - Initial Thread From CCP6 Forum

I had SEO urls setup before the HD SEO xmod was released, so it wasn't needed, I just want to make sure none of my URLS need to change in v7.

There is no UK version...v7 is a UNIFIED version for all users. No more uk version.

James...

Re: ClickCartPro 7 - Initial Thread From CCP6 Forum

well, SEO turned on (regular SEO feature in v6), and an htaccess file. It was limited compared to HD SEO. I have to use a subdir for categories and products and webpages (i use /category/ and /gift/ and /reference/ respectively) while the HD SEO manual looks like that isn't required.

Re: ClickCartPro 7 - Initial Thread From CCP6 Forum

I don't remember much of what was done, haven't touched it since last year, but if you look through posts of mine on this topic (seo) between Jan and May of 2008, everything I did was with Dave's help on the forum. Find the right thread, you'll have all the answers smile

Re: ClickCartPro 7 - Initial Thread From CCP6 Forum

Yes I think after reading up on the HDSEO it would be great if this was simply implemented in the CCP7 rather than have to do all those rewrite rules for each product, that way it will really set it apart from other Shopping Cart Programs.

It is implemented in CCP as an add-on module.  Not everyone needs or wants it.  Regardless, you still have to specify what you want things rewritten as whether it's an add-on module or in the base.

regarding HD SEO, you might find this thread helpful if you are running large product lists https://forum.kryptronic.com/viewtopic.php?id=22391

Re: ClickCartPro 7 - Initial Thread From CCP6 Forum

Hi, I've noted that there is 'new productivity tools such as relationship manager' in CCP7. Is someone able to clarify what exactly this is please?

I really need a way of emailing my customers regarding their order status (and preferably updating the customer's account/cart status at the same time) without manually keying or copying and pasting into individual emails, just wondering if this feature will allow this? If not I have to find an alternative asap, we're wasting an awful lot of time manually creating emails.

I'm using Sage with the connect module, which I have to say works pretty well, it's a PITA having to manually update each order status in the cart  so ideally I'd like to resolve this as well. Would the batch shipping module be any help?

Cheers and good luck with the release of CCP7 (tomorrow??)

The release date for ClickCartPro 7 has been updated.  The software is now expected to release on 04/30/2009.

Kryptronic is commited to releasing software that is 100% tested and ready for production environments.

Being able to use CCP within the context of Joomla or any other CMS is exactly like it sounds.  Within the context of not "dumbed down" as you infer.  CCP will remain CCP with all of its functionality intact.

I like the way in which it sounds you are approaching integration with 3rd party CMS. Personally I would love to see integration with ModX (mostly because this is a powerfull CMS that allows really any type of development. ps many developers are using it, and NEED ecommerce integration, right now foxycart is there best choice.. and it doesn't cut it.)
Integration of the users is key.. other than that basic templating would be cool.. I think that most CCP sections/blocks should be templated by CCP... I guess just a 'include' one one of the host CMS's templates would be great for additional CMS systems, if you plan to add any. I have seen other systems that offer 'widgets' or other includes that can be used in other site sections (not produced with the cart system) these all lack the the abillity to have personalized data since they don't know the session info.. but still a set of includes that developers could use to help integrate components for CCP with there site/CMS would be useful.

Now I have read this whole thread and I know there is some concern over why one would want to have cms integrated with CCP, for me it is for the rich media and blogging type features.. I need to be able to post multiple galleries, videos, and blog to build interest in my brand and product.. I don't sell big name items that everyone has heard of.. I need to create an full marketing backbone to go along with my shop, nevermind the hidden features that my dealers get. I don't see the need for CCP to add a gallery option, and a blog option etc...

In any case I am excited.. you almost lost me a while ago.. due to feature lacks and usability issues.. but it sounds like your focus has been great.. and the underlying platform is what held me off of going with another of the many systems out there. Your framework approach is great..

Re: ClickCartPro 7 - Initial Thread From CCP6 Forum

Its nice being ignored.

Promise a full feature list, then ignore customer requests to produce it.

Yet another cart off our list for a complete lack of customer service notions.

Re: ClickCartPro 7 - Initial Thread From CCP6 Forum

Nobody is being ignored.  When the list is available it will be published.  I certainly hope you don't think that not posting a list of features in a new version equates to a "complete lack of customer service" since nothing could be further from the truth.
