Re: ClickCartPro 7 - Initial Thread From CCP6 Forum

Go back one page in this thread and take a look at post number 30 ... which says:

The introductory price will be $199 for the full version and $129 for the upgrade.  For those with XMODs on their v6 installs, the XMODs will transfer over during the upgrade without additional charge.

Re: ClickCartPro 7 - Initial Thread From CCP6 Forum

So the short answer is don't waste your time v6 since v7 is out IMMINENTLY!

Dave, SEO urls aren't going to be affected by v7 changes right? I have SEO turned on (don't use HDSEO) and htaccess to define url structures. v7 won't affect that eh? When I changed from non-ccp cart to ccp6, and all my urls changed, sales dropped 60% until google reindexed every new page (2 months).

SEO URLs should not be affected or change with version 7.

Re: ClickCartPro 7 - Initial Thread From CCP6 Forum

The release date for ClickCartPro 7 has been set.  The new version of the software will ship on 04/16/2009.

Full versions ($199) and upgrades from version 6 ($129) will be available on that date.

Originally we anticipated an end of March release, however the development team has decided to spend two more weeks testing and developing some last-minute additions to be sure the software is of the quality Kryptronic software users expect.  Thank you for your continued support.

Re: ClickCartPro 7 - Initial Thread From CCP6 Forum

Fantastic news Nick! Any chance we'll get the full feature list before that date? The other list of features was mentioned as only an 'abbreviated highlight list'.

Re: ClickCartPro 7 - Initial Thread From CCP6 Forum

I was wondering if Version 7 will have "product compare"?
This would be a great feature.
Also, would like to have product ratings and product reviews.
Are these 3 items going to be available one way or the other?
Thanks.

Re: ClickCartPro 7 - Initial Thread From CCP6 Forum

Hi, I know it has been sort of addressed, but slowly over time my product pages are in Google's index, reflecting the current db prefix (ie: http://shop.matrixproductions.co.uk/ind … ef=jolly5r).  If I change to CCP7, and the db prefixes change from gbu0 to something else, then surely all my Google indexed pages will become redundant??  Simon.

Re: ClickCartPro 7 - Initial Thread From CCP6 Forum

Goldwinger:  The upgrade will $129 and the full version will be $199.  There will be no time-based discounts because both full versions and upgrades have been priced at $99 since January 1st because of our 10th anniversary sale.

Symztux: We've got a method (using 302 redirects) to address this using rewrite rules.  Don't worry - it will take about 2 weeks for Google to update your URLs and there will be no impact for you (actually page rankings may increase due to Google perceiving the URL changes as changed content).

Re: ClickCartPro 7 - Initial Thread From CCP6 Forum

Nick, I can't use a 301 redirect because it APPENDS the database URL to my seo url...for example, this:

Code:

redirect 301 /gift/easter-gift-baskets-mimosa-006100.php http://www.mysite.com/gift/easter-gift-baskets-jonquil-003600.php

redirects to this:

Code:

http://www.mysite.com/gift/easter-gift-baskets-jonquil-003600.php?app=ccp0&ns=prodshow&ref=easter-gift-baskets-mimosa-006100

Any idea why, I don't remember it ever doing that but all of sudden it is.

Re: ClickCartPro 7 - Initial Thread From CCP6 Forum

I need to crack on with a new site for a client, If we build it in V6 and populate the database is it going to be quick enough to upgrade when you relese in 2 weeks. Or do you recommend waiting? Cost is irrelevant.

Thanks. The reason I aksed is that I have found in the past with other software companies (AutoDesk for one) that the upgrades are sometimes only offered for a limited period, after which you can buy the full version regardless, which is a pain.

Possibly.

$149 ... you'll want to also review  in the Wiki as the same steps will apply when upgrading to version 7.

Re: ClickCartPro 7 - Initial Thread From CCP6 Forum

Iceit88:  We will have a 5.1 upgrade script available.  The cost for a new version 7 license if you supply a version 5.1 license number is $149.99.

amdowney: If cost is no object, by doing the version 6 install now, that gives you two weeks to populate the database.  Don't make any skin or XHTML include changes in the version 6 install.  You'll want to wait to do that in the version 7 install after importing your version 6 data during the upgrade process.  If you do make design-based changes in version 6, chances are you'll have to make some of the same changes after the import in version 7.

Goldwinger: We definitely won't be limiting the time period for which the upgrade is available.

Version 7 will be a unified version suitable for all markets.  There will no longer be a separate version for the UK/EU market.

Re: ClickCartPro 7 - Initial Thread From CCP6 Forum

ok, my questions, small as they are:

1. Will it have an option in admin to assign FREE SHIPPING to a product, as opposed to just omitting shipping?

2. How about an option for customer reviews, like many many other sites have?

3. A compare feature?
