Hi,

Following a number of problem reports from potential clients using the site I have installed a fresh updated CCP6 Cart at the start of August 2008.

I am by choice using the international version of CCP6 and not the dedicated UK version. The install as usual went flawlessly however we were unable to get the PayPal standard payment method to work in the default currency.

As PayPal is the only payment method we accept this could have caused a serious problem.

The symptoms were:

All our prices are in Great Britain Pounds (£ GBP) and doing a test order complete to the point of transfer to PayPal everything is correct with the currency shown as £ GBP.

As soon as the PayPal site was entered the same amount was displayed as $ US. Result we loose a lot of money or we return the payment and the sale is lost with the customer going elsewhere for the products.

The currency settings we made in the Hybrid X Core (KHXC 6.6.5) currency settings global the the system base currency set to Great Britain Pounds. The currency conversion system has been set to false (0).

In CCP6 (CCP 6.0.7) Currency, Weight and Dimensional Settings the currency set to Great Britain Pounds matching the Hybrid X Core setting.

In the application setting our Site Owner Country has been set to Great Britain.

With all settings correct we still experienced the problem. The cure was to insert Howard Galpin's  line of code into the php section of the paypalpp entry in the ccp0_gateway database.

Using Howard's code cured the problem, I am very grateful for his input to the forum.

Now for the question why has this not been included into the install package?

Reading the posts a lot of people have had problems with this issue and the cure seems  to be very simple once you have located the correct data and updated the form.

Could Nick Hendler Incorporate this code into the form or to keep within his ethical policy's   produce his own code or introduce a form into CCP 6 similar to the PayPal Pro form where you can simply enter your currency preference for PayPal.
