How do i remove the option of a new visitor to the site being able to create an account to view.
i have found a post that allows me to hide prices until logged in , which we are going to use
but the new site we will be building shortly will be trade only and we need to only allow access if we have created a user id for them

I've prototyped this for a customer but it is quite non-trivial since there are many places where a link to create an account may show up. There isn't a setting that says "don't allow accounts to be created".

did the prototype work , is it available / finished etc etc
the trade site wont be set up until the middle of june so there is time to play
thoughtt about taking it out of the skin , but there are too many instances in other places
as an alternative can the account created by a user not be available until it has been verified by admin?

We are planning to move our site to CCP6.0 later this year. I am preparing an RFP for some custom coding. Removing all references to setting up an account will be one of our requirements.

Could you use wholesale accounts (call it trade if you'd like)? Simply change your product displays to not show prices unless a person is logged in and a member of the wholesale group. Everyone would be able to see what you have but no prices. Since a person can't register as a wholesale account you'd have to change them in admin which meets your requirement that they be verified by admin.

its apossibility to use it this way and would be ok untill a better solution could be found.

Removing all references to setting up an account is one of our site requirements. I found this thread that is over a year old. Was this work ever finished? Was it included as a feature in CCP7.1?
