Hello everyone. In an effort to enhance the functionality of ClickCartPro 6 further, Kryptronic is currently developing an update to the software. As a company, Kryptronic values it's user's requests highly. Due to several requests from our user community for the ability to allow customers to checkout without an account, Kryptronic is currently working on an update to ClickCartPro 6 which will include that functionality in the base program.
In a previous update, released on 05/21/2007, we attempted to get this functionality into the program. The methods employed were not optimal and the functionality was not included in that update. Since the release of the 05/21/2007 update, several new methods have been tested and a viable solution that does not compromise program security has been identified. This new function will allow users to checkout as a *guest* without creating an account.
A list of all items to be included in this update can be found below:
(1) Checkout without an account
(2) Mail list for non-account holders (tied to checkout without an account)
(3) Enhanced management interface (designed for less technical users)
(4) Add-on module installer for management interface
(5) Free shipping discount code support
(6) URL redirection support for remote product API
(7) Enhanced cart checks with min/max quantity rules
This is to be considered a minor version update. As always, minor version updates to Kryptronic software are delivered for free to all registered licenses and can be applied easily using the web-based installer.
A high priority has been placed on this update and it is currently under development. Kryptronic no longer estimates release dates for updates and upgrades due to the nature of software development. This update will be released as soon as possible. Once the update has been packaged for release, a release date will be posted. Until such time as the posting of a release date, no estimates on development time will be given.

Woohoo! Great News, Nick.
Might I be so bold to suggestion an addition to that list? As we install updates, mods we make to our cart can sometimes be overwritten. vBulletin combats this by providing a screen in the admin area which serves as a big text field for admins to enter notes, code changes, anything they might need to recall later on. I think this would be a great addition to Zuma as, since let's be honest CCP is more geared towards the store developer versus the store clerk - a lot of us make little code changes here and there to customize our installations.

Hi Nick,
Checkout without an account will please a lot of people and hopefully increase the conversion rate of a browser to a buyer.

I'm just glad I was able to figure out a way to handle it without compromising security. I wasn't willing to compromise the security of the program by implementing it in any of the ways it was attempted for the last update. The method to be employed in the next update is pretty ingenious.

Hello Nick
Any plans on including Multrivariate testing feature ?

Are there still plans to have Google Checkout? I am still taking some pressure to get it up and running.

Nick,
As i had mentioned in my other post, can we have a Proposed Modules Sponsorship program.
Offline
Requesting all these other add ons is just to going to delay the update again , please let Nick get on with the updates he's stated in the above post.
once done we can then request the others. In my opinion i would like to see google checkout, but useability for
store owners is to me and my clients far more important, there are plenty of payment methods in place at this time.
The comments made in this post are my opinion , and i am sure loads will disagree with my comments, but i do feel that if Nick is allowed to do the updates stated without people pressuring for even more to be added things will progress more quickly for the benefit of us all.

Hi All,
I have to agree with Picstart, the list Nick posted at the start of this topic tackles the most requested mods following the big update. We also know that additional marketing and order management modules are in the pipeline, let Nick get on with the work to the benefit of all CCP6 users.

I agree, Nick should release the above update as soon as possible.
We should not pressure him
But I wanted to know about the Proposed Modules Sponsorship program

I disagree - who knows the next update will be. Nick said it himself. I'll push for as many inclusions in the update as I can. If it takes him a year to get his "list" together in an update, than means a year plus for anything we suggest in addition to it. Push, push, push. Nick will filter out what he deems not critical or to labor-intensive to include in the next update.

This software was architected to allow for smaller updates to be pushed down to installations on a frequent basis. The last update (and how big it was) was an anomaly. I have committed to pushing out the seven items listed in this post in the next update. No other items will be developed. After speaking with several CCP6 power users including Dave Martin (forum id Dave - who will be handling much of the custom support going forward) and James Rath (Redman Studios), we came to the conclusion that we needed a quick update that included items that are must-haves for a large number of our users. The seven items listed represent those must-haves.
To address some of the functional requests in this thread:
(1) Multrivariate testing feature - is too customized and convoluted to do in the software at all. This has to be done on a per-install basis and customized per-user.
(2) Google Checkout - is already slated for future development following the update.
(3) Admin notes function - just slated for future development following the update.
(4) Dave is working right now on packaging a generic Sitemap generator which will be installable following the update (REF: Add-on module installer for management interface)
(5) Marketing modules and product feeds - Will be developed following the update as an add-on module.
(6) Batch shipping module - Will be developed following the update as an add-on module.

Hello NIck
Thanks for the update
Does it mean that Multivariate Marketing Testing can be developed as an Add-on Module ?
Can you explain " This has to be done on a per-install basis and customized per-user."

Thanks for the hard work Nick. I know we sound demanding but we really do appreciate that you are trying to listen to our needs.

No, it can't be developed in any sort of package that could be added onto an existing system. The nature of multivariate testing is so custom that it has to be done on a one-off basis.

Can you add the following:
1). Discount Coupon Code for New Registrations/Customers.
We should be able to offer Percentage/fixed discount in order to persuade users to Register for a New Account. Upon successfull registration, the customer should receive a Discount set in the Admin which he could use.
2). Global Price Manager
This feature should be able create different pricing schemes for the store and change regular and sale prices at any time. For example, you can raise all regular prices by 10% for the weekend and quickly restore them back on Monday.
You can also create Christmas Prices Scheme and save the Regular and Sale prices for before and after the holiday. It should allow to set new Regular and new Sale prices based on filter criteria you choose.
3). Free Shipping on order over $X Amount.
4). Module for transferring Customers/Order details from Oscommerce to CCP6

Hello Nick,
I have a question - I have not downloaded the update on 5/21/2007, will I need to do it before doing this new update - OR - will this new update have both of the new functions.
Thanks,
K

All updates are cummulative. You will want to make sure you make any db changes, etc. listed for all updates you need to apply prior to running them, however if you wait when you run the installer it will pull down everything you need.

Can I make two small requests?
Can the admin have a "View Website" link somewhere prominent?
Can the admin have a "Log out" link somewhere?

There is already a logout link in Admin. Left side under Account Menu.
