Hello: We have a client who has an online bookstore. From the documentation, it appears that I can assign an item to multiple categories. Is it possible to have two category menus on the homepage?
She would like to have one menu on the left column that reads:
New Titles
Special Sales
Best Sellers
Award Winners
Mysteries
Classics
Humor
She would like another menu on the right column that is a listing of authors.
Would this work? Possibly by displaying the authors names as subcategories under a category authors?
I am new to 6.0.
Thanks,
Estelle Carol

If I understand what is desired correctly the authors names as sub-categories should be feasible. You'd have to add the names as categories, not main ones, and associate the author's category name with the book along with whatever other categories the book is in.
You'd probably have to name the author's category something along the lines of "View Books by Author" or something to make it clear exactly what it is.

Estelle,
You would need to hard code at least one of the category lists as i don't think it's possible to run two category menus form the one database.
You woul need to hard code your selected group of categories into the skin.php file.
