Contact Form Getting Spammed, Captcha?

My contact form is getting spammed, by bots automatically I think.

Does anyone know of a method to add a captcha to it?

Re: Contact Form Getting Spammed, Captcha?

I'm not sure if you've resolved your Spam problem yet, but here are a couple of suggestions:

Add some additional validation code to your ste_mail.pl file. We added code so that our Contact Us form checks for a lot more than required fields. Look at some of your Spam to get some ideas of possible validation checks. This has worked extremely well for us. In fact, we've implemented these checks in a number of other areas that invoke email via Clickcart.*

Another option is to add a captcha to your forms, as you suggested. We found one that worked well and was fairly simple to add to Clickcart's PERL code called, "ZZEE Human Pictcha". It's $50 and does the job. You can download a free trial version here:

Hope this is useful.

*Sorry, but I won't go into any more detail here as Spammers frequent these types of forums to understand how to defeat various security implementations, virus protection efforts, and Spam arrest programs as used by particular software packages and architectures.
