Slow Confirmation Page

I have a couple of installations of CCPRO 5.1 working for two customers.

One customer is having an issue where the ordering process.

There are 2 methods of ordering:
- Credit Card (via cybersource/BOA)
- contact customer for payment information

No matter which process is selected for payment, when the customer clicks on submit on the last screen before the confirmation page, all they see for many seconds is a white page. (generally around 82 seconds)

After the wait, the page shows and the order is confirmed.

Where can I start troubleshooting this delay in showing the confirmation page?

Any help is appreciated.

We are using mysql and apache2 on linux.

Re: Slow Confirmation Page

humesj-please post a url so that others can check it out......

I have a noticed a similar problem on my site, and I think it is since the 5.108 update in August.  I am not sure if the update had anything to do with it, but that is about the time I noticed the slow checkout pages. My delay and white space occurs however between the first and second pages of checkout after entering the address information and going into shipping selection.  I am not on mysql, but I only have about 30 products at this point. If changing over may help, I will.  I am afraid I may be losing customers during the checkout if they get impatient and believe the process is not working.

Re: Slow Confirmation Page

Here is the URL to the dev site that shows the same symptoms:

If you put any item in the cart and checkout, you will see the 82 second average pause between the submit, and confirmation screens.

Re: Slow Confirmation Page

I just wondered if you got anywhere with this ?

I have the same problem waiting for the final order confirmation page to come up. Even if I opt to pay by check, I still get the white screen delay.

In some cases, the webserver actually times out and presents a 'page expired' web page. This is a real pain as it usually happens on credit card orders and customer are left unsure if there payment has been processed !!

I did not do the 5.108 upgrade, so I have ruled this out.

Re: Slow Confirmation Page

Peter, I got 18 seconds to the confirmation screen, but even that is much to long.  I suspect that it is something that is going on with the server as this function normally works well with most servers.  Are you running with the csv files or database?  If you are running csv, I would try converting to database, especially the tracking tables and see if it helps.

Re: Slow Confirmation Page

I have now switched to Mysql which has not seemed to change the page load times very much in the checkout.  Does anyone think that my problem is just the call to 3 different shippers to return rates on the shipping page, as this is the only page were the delay occurs for me.

Re: Slow Confirmation Page

Thanks for the responses.

All my tables are MySQL and perforance is generally pretty good across the website.

What do you think the offending function is? I guess it must also be called when a check payment is made, as I also get the delay here!
