Recommend Good Web Host & Broadband Provider?

Having trouble integrating clickcartpro with my Merchant Service ( Barclays ePDQ) with my current web host and broadband provider - PlusNet - as they've shifted to a cgi which does not support htaccess. (it was OK before)

I'm tearing my hair out as I want my site up before December, anyone recommend a good web hosting outfit with GOOD support?  Seem to be paying people hand over fist to sort out problems created by Plusnet as I'm not au fait with all the technical stuff and would just like to get on with my business. :-(

Thanks Terry, but I would prefer hosting in the UK if I need help over the phone.

We are UK based and use the UK version of CCP for our site wwwangelwholesale.co.uk. Mark at ATS in the US hosts our site. We are very happy with the service provided. In particular the support has been very timely and responsive.

I suppose my point is don't fear hosting in the US. We have had very good experiences with it.

I have to second that notion.  Don't base your choice for a host on your location.  Remember, the net is world-wide.  There is no reason not to consider a host in a different country.  This goes for everyone.

I hate to disagree with Nick, but I do get more requests for UK based hosting as this improves your search results on Google from UK based customers looking for UK based suppliers.
