We're having problems with our installation of CCP 5.1 -- often, but not always, in both the admin panel and in the actual cart, pages have to be reloaded sometimes two or three times plus, intermittantly as well, adding items to the cart causes an internal server error which reloading also takes care of. According to the error log, besides the favicon error, we see this message:
[Mon Jun 27 14:30:27 2005] [error] [client 67.86.67.79] Premature end of script headers: /home/virtual/site4/fst/var/www/cgi-bin/cart/cp-app.cgi

AM at my wit's end. The RAM is not a problem -- other scripts (such as an older version of CCP) run on this same server with no problem. I have root access to this server.

Don't bother trying to get any support if you have this issue. I paid for tech support, and CCP refunded my money saying that I should find a new host and hire someone there to do the installation for me:

Hello Lee. Unfortunately you are experiencing problems on the server
side with load/resource limitations. Your host has done one of the
following:
(1) Placed unreasonable limits on the resources (CPU and/or RAM) your
site can use.
(2) Put you on a sub-standard server.
(3) Has server/OS related issues beyond your control.
If contacting your host regarding this does not fix the problem, I
suggest finding another host. Our install specialist, Terry Ames
(terry@ccphosting.net), can help you move the site anywhere you choose
if you decide to go that route.
I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help. I've issues a refund for your
$20.00 ticket charge via PayPal as this is beyond my control as well.
Let me know if you need any further assistance or recommendations.
Thank you.

CCP5 installation in the *cart* subdirectories only...
Intermittant problem: pages sometimes load, sometimes don't until refreshed two or three times. Sometimes items go into the cart, sometime an internal server error page shows, but reloading will, eventually, place it into the cart then, with luck, you MIGHT be able to check out. Admin panel working once in a while -- sometimes it will accept new catalog items, sometimes not. Error log shows
[Tue Jun 28 11:41:55 2005] [error] [client 67.86.67.79] Premature end of script headers: /home/virtual/site4/fst/var/www/cgi-bin/cart/cp-app.cgi

This installation is running on a dedicated server with 1GB of RAM and more than 2GB of server space with a VERY low load that is running an older version of CCP just fine, as well as other PERL programs without a hitch. So, if you're having problems like the above, run far, get a different shopping cart, since Kryptronic won't be able to help you. If you have PHP/mySQL, Zen Cart is free and easy to set up.

Did you ever stop to think that Nick could have been correct in his assessment of the problem? We have run into this type of problem amny times before and it has always been a server related problem. If a server is set up properly, CCP runs like a champ, even on Windows and Mac platforms. Dissing Nick for a problem that he can not fix is not the way to respond to this, especially after he refunded your support payment. He can't fix something that ain't broke!
I went to your site and looked it over. I noticed that it seems to have problems with the product pages but not the pages that contain text like the privacy page, etc. Do you have this store running in MySQL or csv? If you are in csv, try running in MySQL to see if that is causing a problem. If in MySQL, convert to csv and try it. Maybe you are having some kind of connectivity issue.
